Snoop Dogg has been accused of sexual assault ahead of his Super Bowl LVI halftime show performance.
A woman — referenced as “Jane Doe” — filed a lawsuit against the 50-year-old rapper Wednesday alleging that Snoop and his associate Bishop Don “Magic” Juan sexually assaulted her in 2013 when she was working as a dancer.
Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, denied having any sexual encounter with the complainant, who is allegedly seeking $10 million, Page Six reported.
“The allegations … of sexual assault by Calvin Broadus (known as Snoop Dogg), are simply meritless,” Snoop’s spokesperson told the outlet Friday. “They appear to be part of a self-enrichment shakedown scheme by [Jane Doe] to extort Snoop Dogg right before he performs during this Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show.”
The spokesperson continued, “[Her] scheme involves concocting a legal complaint as an anonymous ‘Jane Doe’ plaintiff, and, knowing full well it can be a public document, filing this complaint late Wednesday, only three days before the Super Bowl.”
Snoop’s rep claimed that the woman “manufactures an occurrence” in 2013 for her “false allegations” in the lawsuit. The spokesperson added that the rapper “has never has had any sexual encounter whatsoever with [the plaintiff].”
“[Her] shakedown scheme is disgraceful. Her attempt to use the courts to advance this scheme is shameful too, and does a disservice to real victims who deserve to be believed,” the rep continued.
The woman claimed in her lawsuit that the two men sexually assaulted her after accepting a ride home from Juan — whose real name is Donald Campbell — following Snoop’s concert in Anaheim, California, at the time. She alleged that she fell asleep during the ride and was taken to Campbell’s home, TMZ reported.
The woman claimed that she went inside his home to sleep because she was “exhausted.” She alleged that she woke up at 4 a.m. and found that Campbell had “removed his penis from his pants” and “repeatedly shoved his penis into [her] mouth,” the lawsuit said.
The woman alleged that Campbell then told her to join Snoop in the recording studio where he was filming his show “Snoop Dogg’s Double G News Network” at the time. Snoop allegedly wanted her to be his “weather girl,” and she proceeded “in hopes of advancing her career,” Rolling Stone reported.
The woman claimed she felt unwell at the studio and went to the bathroom when Snoop allegedly walked in and stood “with his crotch in [her] face” while she was relieving herself on the toilet. The rapper allegedly closed the door and forced her to perform oral sex on him, according to her complaint.
The woman said the alleged incident left her “humiliated, terrified and panicked.”
According to the lawsuit, all sides had agreed to resolve the dispute through a private mediation on Tuesday or Wednesday, but it was unsuccessful. Unnamed sources told TMZ the woman allegedly demanded $10 million, but it was rejected.
Snoop also seemingly addressed the woman’s complaint via social media. “Gold digger season is here, be careful [nephews], keep [your] guards up. And keep [your] circle small,” he wrote on Instagram.
Snoop is among the five performers set to take the stage at halftime of Super Bowl LVI between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals Sunday. The other four artists are Eminem, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige, CBS reported.
