Lena Dunham took to Instagram on Sunday to share a photo and video featuring herself in a yellow swimsuit, enjoying the beach on a sunny day by hugging her husband, musician Luis Felber. However, the writer and actress noted that there was a time when she was “scared” of the beaches.
The 35-year-old writer and actress disclosed that she was scared of the beaches until she was 10 years old. In fact, she used to “cry hysterically” after touching the sand. In conclusion, Dunham shared that “people can change” if they have “faith.”
Dunham first shared a photo of herself posing in a yellow swimsuit, flaunting her tattoos. She completed her look with a pink sunglass. In the same post, she also shared a video, which was a timelapse of Felber walking towards Dunham and hugging her.
“Until I was 10 I was scared of the beach and would cry hysterically if I touched sand,” she captioned the post. “So I guess what I’m saying is have faith, people can CHANGE!!!”
Celebs and fans took to the comments section to share their reaction.
Felber commented, “Beach angel dream queen x x x” while painter Natalia Fabia complimented the actress’ swimsuit and wrote, “You look amazing in yellow!” Actress Juliette Lewis also wrote, “LOVE THIS!! You beach yellow swimsuit perfection.”
Another actress Pamela Adlon agreed with Dunham and wrote, “Yes! We can change. Also. I love this.”
“I lived in Miami until I was 9 and did not step foot in the water, so I totally understand. Still won’t really go in the ocean,” one of the fans wrote while another fan shared, “I was scared of any water too. That’s bc my mom let me watch Jaws at age 5 tho.”
On the work front, Dunham was recently featured in a comedy movie, “Sharp Stick,” which was also directed by her. The movie was dropped on Jan. 22. She was previously seen in a movie, “The Stand In,” which was released in 2020.
She recently completed writing an upcoming movie, “Catherine, Called Birdy,” which is based on Karen Cushman’s novel of the same name.
